October 20 - Here We Go Again!

On Saturday, October 20, Oakfield Lanes hosted the beginning of yet another season for the Tampa Youth Travel League, which will run 25 weeks and end at Pin Chasers Midtown on May 3, 2008. The league will consists of 14 teams this year representing 8 Bowling centers in the Tampa Bay area. Teams from Oakfield Lanes, Brandon Crossroads Bowling, Terrace Sports, Pin Chasers Midtown, Pin Chasers Veterans, Pin Chasers East Pasco, AMF University, and Royal Lanes will all compete during the upcoming season to see who can come out on top at the end of the season. BCB Misfits will try to uphold their title from last year and try for a "3-peat."

Terrace Platinum starts out on top as the season begins. We have already seen some very impressive scores. From two of the BCB teams Rick Emanuelson (BCB Shooters) high game of 254 and 714 series; and Doug Harvey (BCB Misfits) also a high game of 254 and 711 series. High scratch game for the day was shared between David Macella (BCB Underdogs) and Kyle Sanchez (PC Midtown) at 258. For the girls Jessica Novy (Terrace Silver) started out strong with a high game of 223 and Cassie Jones ( Oakfield “A”) with a high game of 220 and led the girls with a 617 series. Oakfield “A” led off the team scratch series with a 3041.
