On February 27th, 2010, fifteen-year old Darien Howard shot a 299 at Pinchasers Midtown during the Hitters & Missers Varsity league, using his new AMF Mega Recovery bowling ball. Darien became the first bowler to post an honor score in Tampa’s newly-formed TNBA youth league. Darien has also previously posted honor scores of a 659 series and a 277 game.
Darien is an avid bowler and currently bowls in three leagues where he averages 194 in the Riverview High School League, 184 in the Tampa Youth Travel League, and 185 in the TNBA Hitters & Missers Varsity League.
Following in the footsteps of his parents, Ronnie and Joyce Howard, Darien is very active in bowling activities. He gives back to bowling by volunteering his time during to assist younger bowlers and participates in annual lane inspections with the Greater Tampa Bowling Association board.
Darien is a 10th-grade honor student and a member of Mu Alpha Theta (math), bowling, cross country, and culinary clubs, carrying a GPA of 3.16. He plans to attend college and major in Engineering.
