While most people are in bed on Sunday mornings at 7:00 AM your
GTUSBCA has board members out and about doing lane inspections in order to certify centers for the upcoming season. The toughest part for the "older" and/or "out of shape" volunteers and board members is crawling under the pinsetters to take measurements and readings in the pin deck areas....crawling on your stomach with the help of your arms...into a dark area....usually hot and stuffy...isn't exactly a way to spend Sunday mornings. Ask Armand "Tony" Bowen photographed kneeling down (no he isn't praying)....as he's getting prepared to go "down under" again after a break. The scene was Pin Chasers Veterans on July 15th.
Writing the measurements down on the clipboard for Armand and Ron Tucker is Pat Watkins. Another crew consisting of Rick Lind and Keith Patterson was hard at work at the other end of the center.
Jimmy Nemeth, Sue & Joe Harris, Wayne Brannon, Steve Shoemaker and Dalia Keyes (clipboard) were also hard at work taking lane levelness/depression readings. You have to be pretty nimble to do this (or have long legs) to stretch gutter to gutter.....maybe this is why Wayne Brannon had aches and pains after the inspection (short legs?) and Steve Shoemaker didn't.
